Porcelain Veneers FAQ
What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility. Placing custom veneers requires a high degree of technical skill as well as attention to cosmetic detail. We place veneers routinely, and design each case individually to match and enhance the characteristics of each patient’s smile.
What is the veneers procedure?
The veneers process happens in three phases: consultation, prep, and placement. We’ll design what we want your smile to look like with veneers and then take an impression of your teeth to send to our lab. While the lab makes your veneers, we’ll prep your teeth by removing a thin layer of enamel to ensure the veneers don’t look bulky once they’re on. Once your teeth are prepped and we receive your veneers from the lab, we’ll bond your custom-made veneers onto your teeth and make sure they fit properly. Just like that, you’ll have a beautiful, new smile in in 2-3 visits!
Will they look like normal teeth?
When bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea, or even cigarette stains. For strength and appearance, their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options.
How durable are porcelain veneers?
With proper care, porcelain veneers will brighten your smile for well over a decade. Dr. Abidin and Dr. Cao will ensure that your veneers are crafted from the highest quality porcelains and are bonded with the most advanced and proven materials available. Refraining from using your veneers as tools to open and cut things will prolong their life, and if accidental breakage or damage occurs, it is usually possible to replace only the veneer involved.
How much do veneers cost?
The cost of veneers depends on a variety of factors, including the number of veneers you’re getting and the condition of your teeth. When you visit us for a consultation, we’ll discuss your smile goals and provide you with an accurate cost estimate based on your unique situation. Our practice accepts insurance, has an in-house savings plan, and takes CareCredit® patient financing. We try our best to make porcelain veneers affordable for our patients.
